Jodi Ann…thanks for sharing your story.

I came across the following blog post response while I was doing some research.  I was grabbed by the writers honesty with herself and, well, by writing it in a public space, her honesty with anyone who reads it.

Take a minute to read what Jodi Ann had to say about denial…

Denial Got Me Here

I was thinking about how I wanted to have pictures so I can look back at where I came from. But then I thought: “How did I get there?” As I was running today (my first 3 minutes straight ever), I felt like I couldn’t do it. I started talking myself out of running. “I can’t do this, I’ve never been able to do this. I’m too tired. I hurt too much.” Then I thought to myself “What hurts exactly?” My knees? Yes, they do hurt, but no more than they did last week. I can’t breathe? Yes, my breathing is labored, but all in all I am still breathing at a quite regular pace. I was ruining it for myself. I was trying to count seconds, I was giving up on myself. That was when the light went off. I was in denial. I was denying that I had worked up to this point. I CAN do this, there is no real reason why not.

After I pushed through that run, I began thinking. I got here because of denial. I was in denial about my weight. I would compare myself to others and say: “It’s not so bad” or “I’m just having a bad day.” When it came to the foods I would eat I would think “I don’t know how to cook healthy.” or “This one burger isn’t going to hurt me.” “I will quit smoking when I’m ready, I still have time.” and “My habit isn’t so bad, I’ve seen worse.” I have been in denial a long time. Well now I see myself. Overweight, but getting skinnier, and unhealthy, but getting healthier.

I KNOW what brought me here and now I know I am not going to DENY myself the right to be the Jodi Ann I want to be anymore.

What a great attitude to have at the beginning of your own journey.

Jodi has decided to transform herself into the person she wants to be by allowing it to happen.  She is doing one of the most important things that you can do for you own success.  She is being HONEST with herself and what got her where she is.

You don’t gain weight by eating healthy and nutritious foods.  You don’t get a body that you become ashamed of by taking complete care of yourself.  You don’t make excuses for yourself if you have nothing to be making excuses for.

I read Jodi’s words, but heard my own voice.  It was me writing that same story.   It was me making those same excuses.  It was me lying to myself for so many years.

There was no way that I was ever going to lose my teenage weight by being less than honest with myself.  There was no way I was ever going to lose pregnancy weight by being less than satisfied with where I was.  The worst thing I could ever do was accept less than I believed I deserved.  It took a long time to mentally decide that I deserved to where I wanted.  It took even longer to do the work required to get there…but is it ever worth it!!

So, where are you?  Are you where you want to be?

What got you where you are and what is going to get where you want to be?

No matter how you got where you are…you can get where you want to be.  It starts with a choice. It gets supported with action and cemented with commitment.

Way to go Jodi Ann! Good for you and I’m cheering for you!!

Here is some motivation for your Monday morning.

Bigger Car Seats? How about SMALLER kids!!!

This should make most people upset and questions what in the holy H@&% is
going on in the world.

The government is now legislating that car seat manufacturers need to make seats for “bigger” children–which is the politically correct way of saying overweight, obese children. And yes, I get that as a society we have become bigger over time in terms of length and bone density compared to our ancestors, but lets get this straight right now.  The govenment hasn’t said make the seats more accommodating for taller children…make them bigger for “bigger” children.  They even support this obesity factor…keep reading.

Are you kidding me??

This is gone far enough…what is it going to take to send a wake up call
to the world that obesity is an epidemic.  Would you ever have thought that
we would need to be making car seats bigger??

I totally support whatever safety aspect in relation to the child in the car seat or the safety of the manufacturing of the car seat.  Tell me you are changing the regulations to make the seats safer by increasing the load bearing aspect for rear facing seats so we can leave our children facing the back of the car longer.

This is right from the Globe and Mail article yesterday…

The changes are driven partly by the trend of children getting bigger over the past two decades, Transport Canada said. Experts blame shifting lifestyles, including high-calorie food consumption, more time spent in front of the computer or television, and mothers switching earlier to feeding their babies formula rather than breast milk.

What I don’t support is that our kids, our future is fat.  Yes I know a number of you don’t like that word. Please-it is a hard a truthful word–I lived it -I
know it-I feel comfortable in saying it.  I think we as a society need to
buck up and not get caught up in the words and look at the problem that fat
kills -obesity is killing people.

The truth is that kids are bigger because of higher calorie-higher fat
food.  There is a fast food “restaurant”, a term I will use loosely, at every
corner.  Parents are over worked and tired and we need these ginormous car
seats so these “big” kids can eat their dinner while sitting in these said
seats after going thru the drive thru.  COME ON people…..smarten up.  Happy
Meals have turned this into a Un-Happy World.

This money that the government is spending on education for manufacturers and the public, should be redirected and it should be put into teaching people about food—real food-not boxed food.

I can ask 50 people how much sugar they should consume and I can tell you
that 50 people would tell me they have no idea.  Sad.  That leads straight into our lazy lifestyle.  ”If the box says low fat then it must be fine!” Heck
no….that’s marketing so that you buy the “low fat” high sugar -high
chemical products instead.

Do you know how to keep kids safe….stop feeding them junk.  Stop being
lazy about not eating healthy…..that excuse is so lame.  I really have no
other word for it.

By making car seat manufacturers build these big seats and have parents
that have to buy these big seats sends a message loud and clear that obesity
wins…yet again.  Any government money that can be spent should be spent
into the healthcare system.  Does anyone remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?  Prevention, education and fixing this food fiasco is the answer…not bigger car seats.

Stop it….everyone…..just stop it.  This is an excuse merry go round. I
hear it every day why you can’t eat properly…..its just an excuse–that’s
it.

Fast food, excessive tv and computer time…those are issues that need to be addressed.  No sports or gym in school has turned this world into a big ol’ mess……and if everyone doesnt smarten up it will only get worse.

Big car seats….come on…..

What kind of eater are you raising?

I will start this post by saying that it is not all right to feed your kids junk because, “They are kids” or “because they are active” or “because they will burn it off”.

This might seem harsh to some of you and that’s something I’m ok with. We all need a dose of harsh reality. If you choose to stop reading now, that’s ok too, but you will find value in what I have to say here, so read away.

Kids need to be nourished just like you and I.  They need to have lean sources of protein and they need to eat fruits/vegetables and whole grains…end of story.

If you feed them chicken nuggets and pop tarts, they’ll be learning that it’s ok to avoid spending 5 minutes preparing a meal.  You are coating their palates / tongues with salt, sugar and some grand chemicals.  I know the excuse that’s coming, “They wont eat anything other than chicken nuggets and pop tarts.” Then that’s what you’ve accepted and allowed.  That’s your doing, not theirs.  Who bought it and who made it for them? Kids learn what they live.

Parenting is tough and at times can be thankless. It’s part of your job to teach them right from wrong, AND to teach them healthy from unhealthy.

Now I know people are getting all fired up reading this and are thinking, “Come on Carrie, they’re kids, let them have a treat” or “Carrie’s poor kids must be miserable.”

I think it’s fine to have a treat, but treats with every meal? NO, not a chance.  Replacing real food with something that comes out of a box? NO.  Making excuses why you can’t / won’t cook?  NO.  I have 3 small children work full-time and I can still manage to make healthy meals.  It can be done!

Would I love if many of you did a complete overhaul of your pantry/fridge?  Yes!!!  I realize that will be a process.  Start by adding in more veggies. I would also say, be the parent.  Don’t accept the fuss that is put up when the kids won’t eat the food that is prepared.  Start incorporating veggies that the kids like and then expand into other veggies.  This is not the eat the Brussels sprouts or else blog post :)

Work with what they like and find similar vegetables to add in.  If they like potatoes, then sweet potatoes would be the next one to add in.  If they like cucumber then next try zucchini.  If they like green peppers then add in some red and yellow peppers.

I’m notorious for pureeing veggies and adding them to meatloaf, chili, hamburgers, etc.

Here is what I do: I make sure they have some fruit with breakfast-cut up apple (they seem to eat more when it is cut up for them) I pack fruit and a vegetable with their lunch-after school snack is a mix-some days it is a veggie and some days it is fruit-I alternate so they don’t get bored and dinner is another serving of vegetables.  I also use different cooking techniques, stir fry, grilled, steamed, baked–they like variety just like you!

I will say stop buying crap.  If you don’t buy it, it won’t be in the house.  Chicken nuggets and hot pockets fall into this category as do pop tarts, sugary cereal, etc. This is just being lazy, sorry, but it is.  Kids don’t understand the health issues; so don’t let them dictate what you are buying and making.  They don’t need to eat these kinds of foods-they don’t -end of story.

Why do you willingly want to feed them all of these unknown chemicals, preservatives and fake meat while not really understand the long-term damage they are doing. I do believe that there is long-term damage–with the increase of cancers and other deadly diseases.  I believe there is a link to ingesting all of these unknown chemicals/preservatives.

One thing that is known….if kids don’t learn healthy from unhealthy, they will go into their adult lives not knowing the difference and struggle with their weight.  Why would you do that to them??  Take it from me, growing up and getting bigger and bigger as a teen was the worst feeling.  When you feel that bad as a teen, you eat more and get bigger.  If you’re struggling with your weight now as an adult why, then why in the world would you ever want to pass that along to your kids????????

Think of how you can “make-over” your pantry/fridge.  Think of how you can replace the junk/crap with healthier choices.  Remember though, just because it says “healthy”, “organic”, “lower in fat” doesn’t mean it is.  We call that clever marketing!!

Best choices: Food that doesn’t have a label.  Next, learn how to read a food label and teach your kids to do it as well.  Empower them to make healthier choices.

Here is your food label decoded:

Look at the serving size-then look at the calories- look at the grams of sugar–my kids can’t have anything if the grams of sugar is over 9 grams per serving!

Take a glance of the ingredients….do you know what those words mean? If you need a chemical science degree to understand the words on a box of food–put it down!

You know you feel better when you have eaten well, and you know how you feel after you have had pizza and cake…bloated, tired, cranky. Kids can feel the same then they act up and you wonder why????!!!!! Also, be kind to teachers.  Don’t send your kids to school with their blood sugar sky-high after eating a bowl of Froot Loops PS….there is no fruit in a Froot Loop!! :)

If you clean up the pantry/fridge and start making real food, your entire family will be better for it.  Your kids will perform better at school and their sports.

Uggghhhhh, I feel another blog post coming on (aka rant) kids, nutrition and sports…..hold on to your helmets and dance shoes….that one should be a dooozie!!

This is your health and the health and future of your family, make the changes so that you can all live healthy lives.

Ok, tomorrow……sports and performance nutrition for you future all stars……I will give you a heads up….Tim Bits are not on the approved list…hahahhaha

Here comes the Christmas Challenge!! Are you in?

Once we hit the Christmas season, most people wait until after New Year’s to start any kind of fitness program with any serious effort. I hope after you read this post and the challenge that comes with it, you’ll see that DURING the holidays is the BEST time of year to make a commitment to a health and fitness program and set your goals for next year.

One thing that always seems to happen moving towards Christmas and New Years is, Excuses…sorry, LAME EXCUSES!!

Excuse: “I’m too busy over the holidays to work out as often as usual.”          Reality : I am choosing to not exercise as often.

Excuse: “I’m more stressed over the holidays, the food is there, so I eat more.”  Reality: I am looking at food to solve my problems

Excuse: “I have at least three parties to attend and then there’s Christmas and New Year’s, so it’s impossible to stay on a diet”                                                        Reality: I am looking for any excuse to go on a food bender and eat recklessly.

Excuse: “No one can tell me not to enjoy myself over the holidays so I’m just going to eat whatever I want.”                                                                                          Reality: You enjoy carrying extra weight.  You enjoy not fitting into your clothes.

Let’s turn this around.  This year can be different!!  Set up a goal to not gain weight….WOW….revolutionary and shocking!!!

It seems a lot of people set their  “goal” to get in worse shape over the holidays. Of course, It’s not consciously set, (at least I hope it’s not!) as few people would intentionally set out to get fatter.

It’s a goal that get sets because there isn’t a positive goal to stop it . Those people seem to convince themselves that it must be just about impossible to stay in shape with everything that is happening over the holiday season, so why bother?

Once the choice has been made, then the excuses can continue:

“I’m not going to deprive myself”,
“My family will pressure me to eat”, ”Eating properly and finding time to exercise during the holidays makes me crazy”
“It’s only a few pounds that I’ll gain so I’m going to enjoy myself”,
“It’s only a couple of weeks, how much damage can happen?”
“I’ll start in January and lose the weight then.”

As a result of allowing these excuses into your thought process, you set bad goals by default.  Suddenly it’s ok in your mind to work out less, eat more and gain a few pounds.  WHAT??? Why is ok because of the holidays?  What about the alternatives??

But what would happen if you…

SET A GOAL TO GET IN BETTER shape over the holidays?

What would happen if you decided that it was not an all or nothing proposition and that you could set a goal to enjoy the holidays and all it has to offer while getting in better shape at the same time?

What if you decided that your health and your body were the highest priorities in your life, because you realized that can’t enjoy anything else in life, including family or holidays, if you don’t have your health?

Here’s what would happen: You’d get in better shape!

Your expectations will become your reality. What are you expecting? Are you expecting success? Are you expecting to be in better shape after holiday parties, celebrations, banquets, dinners, and desserts?

If not, then why not?

What’s preventing you from enjoying all of the above and still getting in better shape? Do you have a limiting belief, which dictates that it’s one or the other? Could it be that you never set a goal, intention or expectation to do it? Could it be that you’re rationalizing or making excuses?

If so, then I challenge you to change it this year.

Why join the challenge?? What is the reward for joining?  Not gaining weight over the holidays!! Give this Christmas gift to yourself…

Here is the Secret..TELL EVERYONE!!

Wow….great response to yesterday’s blog post.

So how many of you are waiting to hear that there is some special potion, pill or lotion that I use????

Ok…let’s break it down and I’ll show you the formula to my energy.  I’m laying it all out, nothing held back, so grab a green tea (there’s the first of many must do’s) and get ready for a read.  But please, don’t just read it, take it to heart, make it your own and live it!

I found it funny that a few people said “Yeah, yeah…. eat healthy, drink some water and exercise.”

That is essentially the start of endless energy.  Why do people pass it off as not a big deal??  That is the foundation  That’s how you build a strong structure and it holds true with building a strong, healthy body as well.

Let’s get started with my Secrets

I think everyone’s idea of healthy eating differs and a great deal of that has to do with marketing and sales.  I ignore smart written copy and slick advertising.  (Like, “30% less fat! Less fat than what? If a product started out with way too much to begin with, 30% doesn’t mean crap.  Well actually it does mean it’s a crappy product.)

My healthy eating is simple….I eat real food…food that doesn’t come from a box.  I am busy, so my meals are not fancy or labour intensive.  Simple and satisfying.  I love the taste of food so I don’t get into a lot of fancy seasonings or infused flavours.  Its amazing how different real food tastes on it’s own not covered in salt, butter and oil. Works for me!

I have so much energy because I have lost over 100lbs- that is a big deal.  If you lost the 20 or 30lbs you want to lose -I guarantee you will have more energy.

When Amy started boot camp she was over 225lbs.  She was not bouncy like she is today…every pound and inch she lost she gained confidence in herself and the bounce started…and has developed into this high energy girl that is strong and lean!  Extra weight drains energy in everything you do, so get rid of the extra.

I don’t eat pasta or a lot of bread or processed foods (cookies, cakes). Think about it this way, the more processing that goes into food, the more processing your body has to do..  They suck your energy–they make you tired and lethargic—ugh….I like being alert, happy and bouncy!  If I do have something processed, I feel it instantly-and it feels horrible.  It’s not worth it to me.

If you want your body to do extra work in breaking down your food, choose foods that have a thermogenic effect.  That means you actually burn calories in the digestion of your food.  Lean proteins…great example.

Do I feel deprived…nope…I feel fantastic!!  I know what those foods taste like…I didn’t get to 220lbs by not eating all of those things.  AND newsflash-the taste of those things has not changed-so you are not depriving yourself.  I will go on a bit of a rant right now –tough love people…so keep reading.

If you are making excuses like “I just had a couple of glasses”, “It was a small piece” “I was out and that was the only choice available” then you will make excuses for yourself as to why you aren’t in your ideal body, “it’s ok that I have an extra 20lbs” “I dont have the time” blah blah blah…heard them all, don’t accept them, moving on…

I use Vital Greens  (full disclosure, I like it so much, believe in it and what it does for me, I actually sell it.)  It works for me.  I like it, again a personal preference.

I eat protein with every meal/snack.  So for those of you that have a granola bar or muffin or don’t eat at all, that’s why you have low or no energy.

I never go longer than 3hrs without food.  NEVER EVER.  I am prepared and always have something with me.  It’s not hard to have almonds/apple in my purse or a baggie of protein powder, a bottle of water.

I eat healthy fats – I cook with cold pressed – extra virgin olive oil.  I add avocado’s to my meals and I make nuts a main staple in my day as well.

I take a healthy dose of vitamin C each and every day.  (I take 1500mg-2000mg) it’s a personal preference (you take whatever is best for you)  It helps with immunity, is an antioxidant, helps absorption of iron and the list goes on and on.

I have protein shakes each and everyday (full disclosure again…my protein of course.  I got so fed up with buying 2 kg containers of cake mix that I formulated my own, worked with a lab and made a great product that is of real benefit for everyone).  I developed it because I wanted a high quality protein that tastes yummy.

I do have days that around 2pm, I am not so bouncy.  Thats when I will have one of my protein shakes and it does perk me up!  I will have a vanilla protein shake and add a packet of Via from Starbucks (instant coffee) and there you have an affordable and tasty mocha-chino!!!

Water….I drink LOTS of it.  It really does make you feel better in so many ways! The other thing I have is hot water with lemon at night before bed…it is the best and only detox you will ever need.  You are mainly made up of water…makes sense to ensure you are re-filling yourself with it regularly.

Exercise – Yes, I exercise.  I could go on and on about the benefits of exercise.  For your health, strength, bones, connective tissue, metabolism, blood flow…

You absolutely have to exercise your heart/lungs (cardio) and your muscles (resistance training).  BUT…you have to do it sensibly.  Has anyone ever told you that too much of anything is a bad thing?  Yes, that holds true with exercise as well, depending on what you are shooting for and the exercise you choose. I have seen some people that have been given really bad exercise advice or done a program that was not right for them and they have actually had the exact opposite results they were looking for.

Food fuels you and provides energy to exercise.  Exercise ramps up the effects of healthy eating and ensures that your body is burning away unwanted and unnecessary calories and fat.

You honestly can’t have one without the other, but as you noticed the majority of this post has been about nutrition.

Final piece of the secret puzzle…SUPPORT!

I have surrounded myself with a support net of friends and family that are positive people.  People that add to my energy, not suck it away.  Negative people rip the energy from a room with their ‘woe is me’, complaints and their excuses for why things are the way they are.

I start my support with me…I know that I control my destiny and my outcomes more than anyone else.  I am trying to raise my children to be happy and positive leaders…why would I not lead them by example.

I support myself with proper sleep and rest as well.  You can’t make demands on your body then not give it a fighting chance to repair and recuperate.

It is a formula.  Nutrition + Exercise + Support = Results.

These are all the pieces to the overall puzzle.  If you are doing one thing and not doing the others then you will never finish the puzzle.  You can’t exercise and eat crappy and expect amazing results.  You can’t accept your own excuses why it’s ok to cheat or take few days off.

This is what has worked for me…test it, I dare you…stick to it, I challenge you.  Prove me wrong, you won’t be able to.

Use all of the pieces….energy is waiting for you….you have to do something to get it—BUT it is sooooooooo worth it and I would never ever give up my energy!

Having endless energy is truly amazing…. why would you not want it?

“Do, or do not, there is no try.” ~ Yoda

Remember, if you need support…I’ll be there for you, I got your back!

I have a secret that will change your life!

I get this question all the time “How do you have so much energy???”

Yes.  I have three young children and a small petting zoo of animals at home (sore spot with hubby–sorry…I love you!!

I work during the day with clients and then I teach boot camp at night.  I cook, I clean and then I clean again because my children love to test my cleaning abilities-hahaha – NO JOKE, I think they conspire from time to time.

We have marathon loads of laundry and have the joy of cleaning up after animals.

My days are full and busy.

I am sure this is nothing unique to me, most of you are probably saying, “Welcome to my world too!”

I bounce out of bed in the early morning to meet with clients and sometimes I do stay up late answering emails and catching up on things.

So what’s my secret?

I have been reluctant to reveal it…..it’s been a tightly guarded secret….that I have only revealed to a certain privileged few.

Those that have been told the secret have taken it and ran with it!  I mean literally they took off (Amy comes to mind immediately!!)

If I told you that you could have endless amounts of energy, stamina to get thru your day with a smile, the ability to bounce out of bed feeling refreshed and recharged…would you want to know what it was and would you do it?

Sure you would.

I think everyone wants to know what the secret to endless energy is…but who is willing to achieve it??

There actually is a secret to my success…it’s a formula, and without it I wouldn’t be here to talk about it today.

If I hadn’t applied the formula and tweaked it over the years, I would still be 220lbs.  I’d still be sad.  I’d still be miserable.  I would still be trying to make excuses about being happy with myself, just the way I was and I would not be participating in life.  I would only be a spectator…how horrible!!

What are you missing out on because you have no energy?  Why in the world would you sacrifice any bit of happiness because of something you could change?!

What would you be doing differently if you had endless energy?  How would your life be if you bounced out of bed excited to start your day?

Do you want the secret formula?

Do you want what I and so many others have?

I will gladly reveal the secret of my success to you, but, you have to be ready for it…..who’s ready for it?????

Let me know.  I will be glad to share it. But you have to want it…Do you want it?

10 Things I LOVE…now that I’m not 220 pounds!

If you could be your ‘ideal weight’, I mean the weight that you want to be, the weight that would make you feel better about yourself, what would you feel like?  What would you not miss when you arrived at that weight?  Would there be any changes in your lifestyle?  Would your clothes be different?  Would you do different activities?  I was thinking about the changes that happened to when I lost exactly half my body weight…and here is what I LOVE now that I’m not 220 pounds.

1.) I feel ten years younger.  In reality, I probably bought back more than 10 years of my life by losing that weight.

2.) I have learned that no food will ever taste as good as I feel now by being healthy.

3.) It’s great being able to tie my shoes without losing my breath. There was a time that Velcro shoes were looking like a good option for me!

4.) I love being able to get out of a chair without hauling myself up.  That was not pretty…

5.) Being able to get off of the floor without grabbing something to help me or doing it in stages (roll to my knees, then one foot, then the big heave-ho)…that’s what it was like when I first started exercising.  Was it ever worth it just to change that aspect!

6.) It’s amazing getting a clean bill of health from the Dr. Having regular blood pressure, no cholesterol or pre diabetes issues anymore.

7.) Feeling strong.  I love knowing that I can do 50/50/50 repeatedly!

8.) It’s fun trying on clothes…I love it now.  I used to hate it.  (You can only make a bed sheet look good so many ways, after a while you don’t need to look anymore.)

9.) Not having my legs go to sleep while sitting in a chair.  (Not fun when you are getting your haircut and when it’s over and you are paralyzed from the hips down.)

10.) I now like getting my picture taken.  There was about a decade without any picture proof I was alive.

The one thing I love most…

being able to help people change their lives and health.  Being a former fat girl, I know the struggles and being able to help people get through it.  It’s truly an honour.

What about you? Have you transformed your former self?  Are any of these the favourites that you’ve achieved or are looking forward to achieving? Are there other things you especially love or are looking forward to?

Make a list of the things you want to do or will look forward to once you are at your ideal weight.

Even if your goal is to lose 10 lbs, one thing on your list will be that you love the fact that you don’t have to lose 10 pounds anymore!!!

So let me know…did anything that I love make you think, “Hey I’d love that too!”?  What will your list look like?

November…Countdown to Christmas

I am a firm believer that you don’t talk about Christmas until after Halloween.  Well, November 2nd is after Halloween so let the chatter begin!  I will ask my American friends to forgive me.  I know that we are supposed to wait until after the US Thanksgiving, but if Target can have Christmas stuff on display in October…we can talk about it now.

Let’s recap what has happened recently:

1)   Thanksgiving (Canada)

2)   Halloween

And that’s just the introduction to the binge festivities.  Next:

3)   Christmas Baking

4)   Christmas Parties

5)   Christmas Cheer

6)   Christmas

7)   New Years Parties

8)   New Years Resolution!

By my figuring, we are 7 weeks away from Christmas and 8 weeks from promising yourself (again) that you will lose weight, get healthier, join a gym, feel better, look better, blah, blah, blah and blah.  You are then about 12 weeks from destroying all your New Years Resolutions.

Now that we have that straight, make a choice right now.  You are seven weeks away from Christmas.  You could be 15 pounds heavier, 15 pounds lighter of somewhere in between depending on the choice you make.

Here is your choice.

Eat properly, exercise smartly and rest effectively

Or

Eat crap, forget exercise and sleep when you can.

That’s it…simple right? No? Sure it is.  Do you have to stick your hand inside the kids Halloween Treat Bag? NO.  Do you have to sample every Christmas treat you bake? NO!  Do you have to drink alcohol on amounts that you never would normally, just because you are at a dinner or party? NO!

You do have to choose…fat or fit.  Sick or healthy.  Tired or rested.

So what are you going to do?  Excuse your way into the holiday season and promise yourself (again) that next year will be different?  Or are you going to run into Christmas healthy, happy and fit and save your News Years Resolution for something fantastic that you really want to do?

Make November your MOVEmber! Get yourself going.  Take a brisk walk, do a bedroom boot camp, try the 6 minute move it, show up to Boot Camp!!!…do something!  The more you move, create resistance for your muscles and strengthen your heart and lungs, the happier you will feel! So try it, get MOVING in MOVEmber!
