Fitness Professionals Do No Harm!

jillian-michaelsHistorically when a doctor begins his or her career they take a solemn oath. Known as the Hippocratic Oath, it originated from the Greeks of legend. No one knows for certain which Greek penned it, Hippocrates, Pythagoras or the students of them, but it isn’t the writer, it’s the words.

Through time, it has been changed, amended, interpreted differently and even replaced with the Declaration of Geneva (which has also seen its fair share of amendments).

This is not a history lesson, you know that’s not my style. This is about what the oath once stood for and why a couple of the things that I’ve encountered over the last couple of days have me all fired up right now.

There is one particular line that existed which means a lot to me. Even though it was made for doctors, I believe in it as a mantra for any fitness professional. FITNESS PROFESSIONAL, not paid number counter.

I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

What does that mean?? In its simplest form, I will make sure that nutrition is the cornerstone of healing and that I will NEVER hurt anyone with what I do. A line later in the oath also says that I will not go beyond my knowledge and refer to someone more qualified if I don’t know (paraphrasing).

Today I talked to a firefighter that has been off work for a while because of a severe shoulder injury that he received while working out in one of those insane warehouse deals with a bunch of steel stuff, heavy ropes and people screaming to “Fight the pain.”

He was doing what he was told by a person who he believed was a “fitness professional”. WRONG. The person was a professional number counter and motivational screamer. The person had no clue about body mechanics, movement or form and therefore didn’t recognize the damage that was occurring and just yelled, “Fight the pain.”

Last night, I read a piece of advice, that I don’t necessarily disagree with about a simple nutrition tip. I agree with it in principle, but when I asked the writer why, he couldn’t support his own advice. Right advice, but NO IDEA why he was giving it. That indicates to me, he read it somewhere and thought, “Hey, this will make me look smart to my followers.”  Again, someone who claims to be a fitness professional but has more interesting in sounding good than taking care not to cause harm.

Come on people! Would you have your accounting done by a 6th grade math student? Its just addition and subtraction, so hand over your books to little Johnny.  Or maybe there is way more behind the scenes information to get you what you really need. Maybe an accountant would be better.

Fitness professionals dedicate their lives to your benefit. Fitness professionals make your health their priority.  Most of us know what we are talking about and will customize plans right for you and not just throw out a blanket statement, “You should never eat XYZ because you’ll get gas.”

Come on… seriously?

Fitness professionals study fitness, health, body mechanics and movement well beyond formal schooling. They consider it a mandatory course of action to help protect you.

Professional number counters take a weekend to get a piece of paper that says, “I’m a certified personal trainer.” Sorry, no you aren’t. You are a number counter that has an obligation to your employer to try to get people to pay out money and hope they never show up.

Please, be careful. Make sure you are with a qualified professional. Don’t just do fad workouts because they look cool. Not all works outs, not all diets and not all bodies respond to the same things in the same way.

To my fellow fitness professionals, thank you for knowing your craft and keep up the great work!! To the number counters. Please know your limitations and help people where you can, don’t hurt them.

No wonder people are confused about health and fitness

Over the last week I have read several articles about and a couple of studies about health and fitness. Specifically, diet and exercise were my primary focus.

The differences in the pieces that I have been reading are like night and day and it got me to thinking that because of the garbage that is out there, no wonder so many people are confused about the best ways to reach their health and fitness goals.

Hmmm… are you confused?

Diet

According to what I read, the best way to lose weight is through the foods you eat.  If you eat well-balanced meals, if you drink a shake, if you take these supplements you can lose weight.  You don’t need to even think about exercise while the pounds and inches just magically disappear.  Really?

Pills, potions and lotions

Exercise

According to several top researchers, all you need to do to lose weight is exercise.  Lift heavy weight, lift light weight lots of times.  Run for miles on a treadmill, take a yoga class, spin on a brass pole, air box.  These will guarantee rapid weight loss…so some people say.  Who cares about what you eat! In fact, eat lots of food and don’t worry about it being good and healthy food, just eat! Really?

Donut think so

The TRUTH

  1. No amount of exercise will make up for a crappy diet.  Food is fuel and if you are going to exercise, you have to re-fuel your body with the stuff.  You don’t put diesel fuel in a gas engine right? So why put crap in your body?
  2. Exercise builds and maintains lean muscle mass.  The muscles are where you will primarily burn energy (aka fat) when you are losing weight.  The more lean muscle mass, the more fat you can burn, so it stands to reason that by exercising you can burn more fat, faster.
  3. Your body is a genius at figuring out how to get by with what it has going for it.  Not enough food? It slows down metabolism and stores every bit of extra energy (fat) that it can to get by.
  4. Your body will adjust itself to your caloric intake so that it works with what is available and pretty soon, you’ll be putting on weight again (unless you starve yourself).
  5. Proper diet + Sensible Exercise = Health & Fitness

    This PLUS

This EQUALS

THIS!!

That’s it! There you go.  Confusion gone.  A proper diet is incredibly important for proper health and exercise is necessary to use that nutrition to make a better, stronger healthier you.

They go together, so forget the garbage about one or the other…the answer is both!

Oh and by the way… wonder what the reason “experts” have such different views?  That’s easy.

  • Food manufacturers and food product suppliers depend on you eating crappy food.  They have a vested interest in you eating more.
  • Gym facilities depend on you spending your money there but never walking through the doors.  They bank on that and lock you into contracts then if you do go there, introduce you to someone who texts their friends during your time and counts to 10 while looking at everyone but you!
  • Who do you think is funding the research that is skewed?

Death, disease, disability, what are you waiting for?

Watch this

If you don’t think that carrying around extra weight is no big deal….well here’s your reality check, it is.
If you needed a wake up call, consider THIS IS IT!
Think that you can wait until your schedule changes or when the kids don’t have sports or on and on…..
You can’t.
The longer you wait to get your health in order the longer and harder it will be.  That’s a fact.  Aside from tighter clothes and feeling uncomfortable, are you really ok with having the associated diseases that come along with being overweight?
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • High Cholesterol
  • Heart Disease & High Blood Pressure
  • Stroke
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Fatty Liver
  • Depression
  • Should I go on??

You don’t think that 25lbs of extra fat on your body is no big deal.  That is until the day you wake up and have a to start your daily routine of poking yourself with insulin needles to stay alive or you  have stroke or heart attack and can’t speak to tell your family you need help.

If nothing else, be a role model for your kids.
Growing up as an overweight child I can tell you how painful it is.  I BEG OF YOU to not let your kids suffer.  They will.  They might not say it.  They might not show it, but they will feel it.
You being overweight is on you.  You did it.  It’s time to fix it.  I’m here to help.

Is there a better reason?

Beware of the “Experts”

I saw this on Facebook the other day , shook my head and now I have to comment on it.

Just have a baby, low on energy, want your old body back? (notice the bad grammer-guess the product doesn’t help that)
Have picky eaters, children, teens, seniors, want to ensure their nutrition?
Need to lose weight for health reasons, Diabetes, Heart Conditions, Back Problems?
Want more Energy for family, friends and the busy holiday season?
Want to trim down for Family Pictures, High School Reunions or Tropical Vacations?

Well what is this all in one miracle that works for children to seniors?
For sickly people to people in pain?

So if you are trying to lose baby weight or if you are a senior with a disease then this miracle product will work for you!! Actually, it will work for anyone with a heart beat including the dog or the squirrel on your lawn.

WHAT A BUNCH OF LIES!!!!

This is a post from someone with ZERO health/fitness training and education–pimping some product.

I am sure you all know someone like this. It could be a neighbour, co-worker, family member that has gotten involved with some kind of multi level marketing company.

They have no idea how these products are manufactured–they have no idea about the “ingredients” in these products–all they know is that it might help them lose weight and get rich.

What also shocks me is that smart people will take health advice from someone who has no training or education–that is a whole lot of crazy!

I always find amusing is that the majority of these people selling these types of miracle products are usually unhealthy, sick and broke!  Great role model for your company folks.

If you are selling a weight loss product, you likely shouldn’t be overweight.
If you are trying to get someone to join your “company” you likely shouldnt be broke.

There is no miracle product that is a one size fits all…..read that again.  If someone is trying to tell you that it is good for your kids and for your grandparents they are way off base. (Unless they are selling water or vegetables).

What I see usually, are people who are drawn into these quick fixes and then they are on to the next one.  It might not be a direct selling company, it might be that they started with Jenny Craig and then moved on to Herbal Magic and then on to the next diet centre. Or diet books; one week it is Atkins then the next week it is the blood type diet.

What the heck has happened to society……
Everyone is looking for the easy way out.
Lazy, lazy, lazy.

Losing weight takes an effort.  No magic drinks, pills, lotions or potions.

Guess what, you did this to yourself. You did not wake up with an 30 extra pounds on your frame. You had to have the Eggs Benedict when a veggie omelet would’ve been fine. You had to have the chips because they were out on the table at a party. You had to have the pizza because everyone else was. You couldn’t pass up dessert because it was your favourite……shazam you gained weight!

Everyone is unique…..its this special thing called DNA, maybe you have heard of it?!

Your genetic makeup is your own. So what works for Sally won’t necessarily work for you.

One thing that is true is that you need to eat real food–(not boxed food) and you NEED to exercise—-those are two truths that will never change.

Just so we are clear anyone telling you to buy some “magic” product and replace two of your meals with this magic product and you will be a brand new person is lying.

Slim Fast said the same and remember what happened to Oprah when she went on that liquid diet.  Yeah she lost weight but now look at her.  Has she ever been able to keep it off? Did she ever learn why she loses weight than gains it back, faster and bigger then before?

What’s your thoughts? Let me know…agree / disagree?

Be Stronger Than Your Excuses

Stop blaming genetics, post pregnancy, your job, your family (aka kids schedule).
If you actually want to change your body, you need to suck it up.
Drop the donut and show up to workout!
If you don’t want to put the effort in, you lose the right to complain about where you are in relation to what you think about how you look and feel.

There are busier people than you that still manage to show up and workout.

It’s not how good you are, it’s about how good you want to be….

If getting fit & healthy is important to you, you will find a way, if not, you will find an excuse…..sound familiar?

This is not a question of CAN you reach your goals, but WILL you??

Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself;

  • Is this the body I want
  • Do I look as good as I can
  • What is stopping you from looking and feeling the way you want
  • Am I doing what it takes
  • What excuse is keeping me from reaching my goals

Many times when we ask ourselves the tough questions we can find the honest answers.  Once you have the answers inside yourself, do what it takes to make your goals a reality!

Be stronger than your excuses.

You have a choice: You can throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off your face!!!!

Where do you get your advice?

As you know, there are a few things that tend to get me fired up.  One of those things that gets me seeing red are diet/weight loss centers.

You all know what I am talking about….

What would happen if Jenny Craig had a romance with Dr Bernstein and they made Herbal Magic together? Bwahahahaha, in the group of diet/weight loss centers I’m going to include Weight Watchers and any multi level marketing company that markets weight loss products.

Put it perspective, would you take financial advice from someone who is broke?

Then why in the world would you take diet and health advice from someone who has no clue?   Weight loss centers have people who have no health/fitness training giving advice on how to lose weight. What??????

People that are trying to sell you some “magic potion” and they themselves are not walking the walk are nothing more than frauds.

Then there are the companies that come up with a magic product that will help you shed pounds and your approached by your neighbour who will try to get you on these products and you will lose a ton of weight and it is incredible!  What do they know about health and fitness?  NOTHING, they know what is put into a script for them by sales and marketing professionals, not fitness professionals. WHATEVER!!!

The diet and weight loss industry is a multi billion-dollar business and companies are trying to take your hard-earned money with some fad product.  Think about it this way.  Their business is selling products to make money.  If their products really worked, wouldn’t they be putting themselves out of business?

YOU ARE SMARTER THAN THAT!!  Yes I am yelling in capital letters!!

You need to exercise and eat real food.  That’s it, that simple.  Yes, that simple.  You want quick and easy, you want long-term, lasting results.  Quick and easy  says to me that you don’t want to put the effort in and that is EXACTLY what these companies are preying on.  Your busy schedule, a desire for the magic fix  and your laziness is what drives these companies.

Would you take weight loss advice from a sumo wrestler?  Heck no!!

Look to people who have had success.

I have lost over 200lbs – I have over 17 yrs of training and experience.  I have seen and heard just about everything.  Please listen when I say that there is no magic potion or miraculous gadget that will get you to your goal.  The secret to weight loss and body management is sweat equity and discipline.

Don’t make it harder than it is.

Eat real food.  That’s not so hard is it? Just do it, no excuses.

Exercise.  You need it and it will get you to your goal.  Yes, that simple.

Be the you that you desire.  Do what is required and don’t look for short cuts. Make a change starting today Oh, and don’t listen to any diet nonsense!

What’s your thoughts? Let me know.

The Four Pillars of Fitness

What I do falls into a few categories….trainer, nutritionist, motivator, event planner, meal planner, Dr, therapist…..(OK, I only play those last two at boot camp. I don’t have the letters behind my name in real life).  In reality, I consider myself a “Fitness Professional”.  There is a huge difference between a personal trainer and fitness professional.

A client recently sent me a thank you email for helping her get through the pain she has lived with as a result being overweight.

I specialize in helping people lose weight and get in shape.  Essentially what I do helps take away
pain.   There are many forms of pain that can contribute
to you not feeling at your best.

Physical pain - Things hurt and when they do there’s usually a reason why.  In a lot of instances, carrying extra weight hurts joints, support structures and a recurring injury and any extra weight isn’t helping.

Emotional pain - This really hurts.  Living with the pain of not being happy with how you look and or feel.  Often hiding that pain with a false smile, an overly bubbly personality to mask how you really feel.  Often times, this results in both weight gain and physical manifestation of pain in the muscles, and joints.  It’s very difficult to have energy for your day, and your body seems to just want to rest.

Psychological pain - You might (or should I say “you likely are”) torture yourself with your own thought process.  You’re constantly second-guessing yourself, feeling sad or upset, and emotionally beating yourself up.  This is when people typically turn away from exercise and that’s when things get bad and physical and mental pain sets in.

Spiritual pain - When in conflict with our own morals, value systems, and beliefs, we have a very hard time excelling at anything.  This is a very interesting, and powerful, connection.  Our bodies insist that we are in sync with ourselves or we deteriorate.  Our muscles waste, we gain fat, our joints start to hurt, and our energy plummets.  Plus, the world just seems harsher.

This is what you need:

Physical Fitness:  You need to move, end of story. Challenge your body, release good endorphins that actually make you feel better!  Combine those with the fact that you will start reversing those things that are causing you physical pain.

Emotional Fitness:  Accept what you have and change that which you can.  Stop making excuses.  Often the things you think can’t be changed will remedy themselves through other wholesome changes.

Psychological Fitness:  Stop beating yourself up.  You are only perpetuating a bad situation.  Positive thoughts will help here immensely!

Spiritual Fitness: Honesty with yourself, honesty with others and balance in your life…these will put you in better alignment for progress.

I’ve witnessed time and time again that when all 4 of these areas improve and you “heal” yourself
through exercise and movement, you are unstoppable in all areas of your life…that is powerful!!

We have to teach your muscles how to get back on track.  When this happens the pain drops, your body feels incredible and then you will start to shed the fat. When you take a break from exercise or fall off the wagon you put your mind and body thru pain.

How do I know? I’ve been there.  I looked in the mirror and was miserable with what I saw.  I hurt physically, emotionally and mentally from what I let myself become.  I created a cycle of disbelief and excuses.  I put on the happy face to cover up the pain.  Then I took control.  I set my goals.  I exercised.  I focused on the positives and before I knew it…I was where I truly wanted to be, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.

Join me..it’s great!!

Let me help you.

The Power of Protein

Losing weight can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be.  Literally, it is up to you to determine your own success!

There you go!  Think about that and discuss. Ok, time’s up, here is my take on it.  (You can go back to discussing later.)

You set yourself back every time you have that “treat” or little bite of this or that, which for some reason you feel you, “Need”…ackh!

Whatever your reason for wanting to lose weight, I congratulate you for taking the steps to be healthy.  I applaud you for making the decision.

Research shows that protein is a key factor in weight loss success.  The way that it does this is through the ‘thermic effect’ that it has on your body.

The definition of the ‘thermic effect’ of food is the increase in energy expenditure (calories burned) above your resting metabolic rate due to the cost of digesting your food for storage and use.

In easier terms, every time you consume food your body burns calories to digest that food.  Think about that one…you use energy to consume the energy that your body needs to use energy.

The interesting thing with this is your body does not require as many calories to digest carbohydrates and fat as it does protein.

For every 100 calories of carbohydrates or fat you consume your body only requires about 3-7 calories to digest those carbs and fat.  If you consumed 100 calories of protein your body requires around 24-28 calories to digest that protein. Hello protein!! 4 to 8 x more energy required to process protein.

Your body burns potentially up to 30% of the protein calories you consume just to digest that protein and only 3-7% of the carbs and fat you eat and digest.  Think about the net difference in what is left over.  That is a lot more energy that can be stored for a rainy day from eating too many carbs and fats…that is not what you want.

Need more science proof?  Studies report other benefits of protein:

  • Increased thermogenesis aka: faster metabolism thru the thermic effect of food
  • Fullness/satiety
  • Improved glycemic control aka: your body uses the sugars more for energy instead of storing them as fat

Increased protein intake also makes your brain turn on the production of the hormone glucagon.  Everyone knows what that is right?  That’s the one that keeps your insulin levels in check.  Less free sugar floating around in your body to get stored as fat.

One common problem to increasing your protein intake is the thought people have of trying to eat enough of it.  This is where a protein shake can really help.  Easy to prepare-cost effective and did I mention e-a-s-y; less than a minute to make a yummy shake!

Protein aids in lean muscle growth, increased metabolism, and accelerated fat loss. There are way too many choices of protein powders available, so let me narrow it down for you…make sure it is cold-processed. Like anything, when you add heat to it, changes occur.  With protein, heat changes to protein chain and you want it to be as pure as possible.  My protein powder is one of the good ones..ok, actually the best one, but I’m biased.

And don’t you dare confuse a smoothie for a protein supplement…did you know that Tim Horton’s Fruit Smoothies have a sugar content of between 30 and 50 grams with zero protein and they are pricey!

So, boost your protein intake with a protein shake.  Need a recipe? Here a few to get you started.

Boot Camper of the Month!!

What does it actually take to lose weight?  Yes, the right food and the right exercise but also, and most importantly, the right mindset.

If you go into a new fitness program with the, “been there-done that” attitude, you will never achieve total success.

A number of you have been on the diet roller coaster and have tried every new fitness craze out there, but have you been able to keep the weight off?

Getting clear with your goals is really important and seems to be always overlooked.

When you join boot camp and tell me that you want to “lose weight and tone up” that is just fluff.  There is nothing to that statement and there is nothing to hold you accountable.

Meet Jen.  Jen joined boot camp in the summer and has been diligent at showing up to class giving 110% at every workout.  But she was missing a few key essentials.

Jen booked an appointment with me to have a personalized meal plan done and she has followed it to the letter.

When I asked her specific questions; she had the specific answers.

She knew the amount of weight she wanted to loose.  She knew the size of pant she wanted to be in and she had a timeline.  Goals set, time line determined! She has an upcoming trip that she wants to be in tiptop shape for!

She had specifics.

In the month since Jen has lost over 10 inches.  10 inches!!

She is still moving forward.

She is following her food plan, she is showing up for her workouts, she is still committed because she wants to reach her goal.

But 10 inches for her isn’t good enough.  She wants to achieve her specific goal.

I want to give a huge shout out to Jen!!  Way to go!!!  You are a great role model!  You have a busy, busy life and you still manage to eat the right food and show up to class.

I applaud you for committing to your health and sticking with it.

Jen used the magic formula that I ramble on and on about.  The same magical message that I think many people might miss. Because of its special magical powers, I feel compelled to give it to you all againg, are you ready , because here it is…

Set your realistic goals, with attainable timelines.  Commit to those goals by eating the right foods, in the right amounts at the right times.  Do the right exercise for your goals which is sensible and designed for your needs……Taaadaaaaaaa!!!  Secret revealed yet again!

The difference between most people’s results and Jen’s results are; Jen has listened and when she was tempted with food or offers to go out and blow off boot camp -she stayed the course, considered her goals, measured what was the offers and food would do to her goals and look….10 inches later she is almost at her goal!

10 inches people, that’s a lot.

Again, way to go Jen!  I am so super proud of you.  You are a testament that even busy people can make and eat the right food and find an hour a day to show up at boot camp!

Now it’s your turn everyone.  Make a commitment to yourself; set a specific goal (not a fluffy goal)**.  Specific – what pant size are you in now???? If I could give you a new pair of pants, what size would they be?? And don’t say…”well, I’m a 14/16 now and I would be happy with size 12″ NO YOU WOULDN’T!  I bet if you would get down to a size 7/8 you would be doing cartwheels!!!  Don’t settle for easy!

Set your goal, do it now! Post your goal on the blog and that will start your accountability.  Everyone that reads your goal you can be held accountable to.  You put that much commitment into yourself, you bet you’ll hold yourself even more accountable.

Ok, last thing…please do not use this holiday season as an excuse to go off the wagon (food or alcohol).  Smarten up people.  That was my public safety message for this weekend!!

Everyone show Jen some love!  Leave her a comment on the blog!!  I am sooooo proud of you!!  You have joined the ranks of a bunch of really great people who have committed to themselves and changed their lives…Amy, Katrina, Mel and more.

SO, who’s next????

** (A fluffy goal). ie ” I want to lose weight.  I want to get in shape.  I want to feel better.”  Everyone who is overweight wants to lose weight, round is a shape, why do you want to feel better?

Oprah Part II – What someone needs to tell Oprah

Well……there was quite a firestorm that started after my blog post on Oprah about what some have considered her essentially being fraudulent in her weight loss efforts.  There was a lot of support for what was written, while there was naturally some back lash.

Those that got the take away message from the post -I want to say thank you!

To recap the take away message was: Real people with real issues are succeeding at losing weight the right way; no fads or weird infomercial products.  No celebrity trainer  books.

People that have kids, who work, who have full and over scheduled lives are doing what it takes to lose weight and get in shape.  Whereas Oprah, who has a team of staff to take care of her, doesn’t have to worry about the stresses of money, time to prepare food, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, etc. But she just can’t get a handle on her weight…and has sold the world a list of lies of products/books they should buy bestowing the virtues of abetter life, a healthier life and a better you.

I want to congratulate and give high fives to all of you who are getting healthy.

Here are a few things I need to say:

Obesity is an epidemic! It is killing people daily and yet there are no ribbon campaigns for this killer–why? Is it that if you said that being fat/overweight will kill you some people would be outraged?? Truth hurts sometimes

This goes way beyond fitting into size 2 jeans.  It’s about taking care of yourself and being as healthy as you want to be.  If you are not taking care of your health by eating healthy foods and exercising sensibly, you are asking for trouble.

There is a campaign to end fat talk—it’s the “Fat Talk Free Week”….ugh….really???  How about we put an end to yo-yo dieting or put an end to infomercials that are blatantly lying and being fraudulent in their claims. Put an end to being overweight or fat or weight challenged (again whatever term makes you feel better), ignoring these issues will not make it go away.

Enough with the enabling and coddling…..look at where it has gotten us…..the population is at it’s largest and unhealthiest.  Young children are kids battling heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure–SHAME!  Schools have destroyed physical education and competitive games which were staples at one time to child development.

If you think that a diet centre, pills, pre-packaged food are going to be the answers to your weight loss goals, I’ll tell you right now that you are only fooling yourself and you would be better to give your hard earned money to charity.  It has been proven time and time again by celebrities, your neighbour, co-workers, (you know someone that has done one of these “programs”) and you know that they never kept the weight off…Smarten Up People!!  We are such a tech savvy society now but we still throw our common sense away when it comes to losing weight…..why????

There is NO mystery to lose weight…read that again…..wait…..here’s a headline…..”Carrie solves the mystery to losing weight”  and I’m going to give it away to right now for free!!!

Eat healthy real food (not from a box) and exercise, that’s it, that’s all and the mystery has been solved!!!!!!  Think I could get a role on CSI?????  I know it is not glamorous but does it need to be…it’s common sense, which has become the most uncommon thing in the world.

If you tell me you can’t or don’t have the time to eat smart or to exercise–I don’t believe it and it is a lame excuse quite frankly.

Let’s be real about this issue…even 15 extra pounds of fat on your body stresses your heart, lungs, bones, etc  Do you want to talk about aging yourself….that will do it.  You want to talk about limiting your life span, that’s a great start.  The stress just a few extra pounds puts on your body is significant.  Don’t you owe it to yourself to be the best you that you can be?

Do you want to feel better? Then take control, be tough mentally and spend the extra 15 minutes at night making your lunch for the next day. Get exercising, even when you are dog tired you will feel better that you got your body moving and made it stronger!

The only people that I intend on offending with this post are those that say it can’t be done.  Those that will lie to you with slick marketing campaigns and those that don’t care about the long term results for you, only grabbing a quick buck…and no, I’m not sorry if you’re offended.

Here is to your health and here is to your education.

Agree/Disagree, like it or leave it…let me know your thoughts!

Who loves ‘ya?
